The More I Listened
August has been quieter for me than usual, and somewhere along the way I realized I needed it to be.
I’m normally sharing something: a reading, an event, a meditation, or even just a message that came through. That rhythm has been part of my life for so long that I don’t always notice how much of my energy is moving outward.
This month, I noticed.
I didn’t sit down and decide that August was going to become some big period of reflection. I just started wanting more space. I wanted more time with myself. I wanted to experience what I was feeling before I tried to put words around it. So I followed that.
The monthly collective reading never happened. My calendar stayed lighter. I shared when I genuinely had something I wanted to share, and I let the rest be quiet.
And the more room I gave myself, the more I started noticing what was happening underneath everything else.
August had already opened with the energy of 8/8 and Lionsgate, and I had been thinking a lot about abundance, open paths, creation, and what it means to intentionally move toward the life you want. I created an Open Path Ritual around that energy and spent time thinking about what it means to make space for what you’re ready to receive.
What I didn’t realize was how quickly this energy would shift my reality. And in real time, my life instantly changed in a way I never expected.
The Shift
It started with my body.
One evening, I found myself on the floor stretching. There was no routine I was following and nothing I was trying to accomplish. I just felt like I needed to move, so I did.
And then I did it again the next night.
Before long, I started noticing that around the same time each evening, my body would begin asking for it. I would feel the pull to get on the floor, stretch, breathe, move my hips, move my neck, or just stay in a position that felt good for a while.
So I kept listening.
What started as stretching began to feel like something else. There were emotions coming up. There were nights I cried. There were places in my body that felt tight one night, and as I moved through the stretching and the release my body seemed to be asking for, those same places could feel completely different the next day. It was almost like my body was showing me where something needed to move, and once I gave it the space to do that, I could actually feel the difference.
My breathing would change without me consciously trying to change it. Sometimes I would move. Sometimes I would stay still. I wasn't following a practice. I was letting my body lead me through one.
And that became one of the biggest shifts for me this month.
I spend so much of my life trusting what I receive spiritually, but I started realizing that my body has its own way of communicating with me too. The more I listened, the more I began to recognize its language.
And somewhere in those nights on the floor, I started understanding that what I had been asking for wasn't only showing up around me.
It was happening within me.
Embodiment
The more I listened, the more this started to feel like embodiment.
There are things I’ve known for years that I don’t have to think about anymore. I trust my intuition. I trust what I receive. I understand that there is so much happening around us that we cannot physically see, and I’ve learned to pay attention to the ways Spirit speaks to me.
But this felt like another layer of that knowing.
I was becoming more aware of how much my body was part of the conversation.
And once I started listening there, I noticed myself listening differently everywhere else too.
I started paying closer attention to what felt natural to me. What gave me energy. What took it. What I wanted to make room for. What I was doing simply because I had become accustomed to doing it.
There wasn’t some big moment where I sat down and decided to reevaluate my life. These realizations were just coming to me as I gave myself more room to be with myself.
And as I sit with everything this time with myself has brought forward, the word that keeps coming to me is expansion. I can feel myself expanding beyond the ways I’ve experienced my spirituality before. The knowing is still there. The intuition is still there. But now, more of it is moving into my body and into the way I experience myself.
It feels like I’m ascending into an upgraded version of myself. Not becoming someone new, but expanding more fully into who I already am.
The deeper I went within myself, the more clearly I could see what was happening around me.
The Quiet Showed Me Something
The quiet started showing me things I probably wouldn’t have noticed if I had kept moving at my normal pace.
One of those things was just how much of myself I give outward.
I’ve always made space for myself. I rest. I have practices that bring me back to center. I know how important it is to take care of my own energy, especially because of the work that I do.
But I started realizing that sometimes a few days is enough to help you keep going. That doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve given yourself enough time to completely fill back up.
There’s a difference.
When you spend so much of your time working with energy, holding space for people, and pouring into others, you can become really good at maintaining yourself. You learn how to restore enough energy to keep the balance going.
But I don’t want to simply maintain myself.
I want overflow.
And I started thinking about what it actually takes to get there. Sometimes it may be a weekend. Sometimes it may be a week. And sometimes you may need a much longer stretch of time where more of your energy gets to stay with you.
I think that’s part of what I’ve been giving myself this month.
Time long enough to get past simply feeling rested.
Time to actually feel full.
And the fuller I’ve become, the less interested I’ve been in rushing to decide what I’m supposed to do with all of this new space.
I’ve just been letting myself have it.
What I’m Seeing Differently
And having that space has given me room to look at my work differently too.
I love what I do. I love sitting with people. I love creating experiences and watching what can happen when someone gives themselves permission to soften, release, receive, or simply be still for a while.
But lately, I’ve been thinking more about the way I want to do that work.
I’ve found myself drawn to smaller spaces. More intimate experiences. More time to actually sit with people, listen to them, and meet them where they are. I’ve been thinking about community too, and what it looks like to create spaces where people can come as they are and receive what they need without everything having to be a big experience.
I think having more space for myself has reminded me how important that kind of space can be for someone else.
And maybe that’s part of this expansion too.
As I become more connected to my own body, my own energy, and what feels right for me, I’m becoming even more intentional about the spaces I create for other people.
I don’t have all the details figured out yet.
But I can feel the work changing with me.
Where I Am Now
For once, I don’t feel the need to rush and figure out what all of this means for what comes next.
I have ideas. I can feel things taking shape. There are things I’m excited about and things I’m still sitting with. And I’m okay with letting them unfold in their own time.
Right now, I’m listening.
I’m allowing.
That word has been coming up for me a lot lately. Allowing myself to receive. Allowing things to happen naturally. Allowing myself to loosen my grip on how everything is supposed to unfold and trust the divine progression of my life.
Maybe that’s where all of this has been leading me.
Back to myself, but with more of myself this time.
More present in my body. More aware of my energy. More willing to listen when something within me speaks. More comfortable giving myself the time and space I need without immediately deciding what needs to come from it.
I don’t know exactly what this next season will look like yet.
And I’m allowing that to be enough.
