This Doesn’t Feel Brave Yet
A reflection on what it really takes to walk away from comfort and say yes to alignment. This isn’t a fairytale about following your dreams—it’s a grounding note for anyone navigating the space between fear and faith.
This season, something’s shifting⎯not just for me, but for so many of us.
There’s a quiet stirring in the collective. A sense that we’re being asked to trust deeper, listen more closely, and choose what aligns…even when it doesn’t come with guarantees. And that’s the thing no one really talks about when it comes to change⎯how much trust it takes to walk away from what’s comfortable, even when your soul is begging you for more.
People often paint these moments as magical. They imagine a divine sign, a perfectly timed opportunity, a door swinging open with golden light pouring through. And while yes, sometimes the energy opens beautifully, the actual work of preparing yourself to walk through that door⎯that’s a different kind of beauty. It’s raw. It’s uncomfortable. It asks you to meet yourself in ways you never have before.
There can be a lot of fear that rises right alongside faith. And sometimes, the fear is louder. That isn’t failure—it’s a call to rise. A signal that something sacred is stretching within you, asking to be met with new courage.
The Unseen Work of Letting Go
Leaving what’s familiar isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s the quietest shift in the world.
Not everyone sees the nights you lie awake doing the math⎯financial, emotional, spiritual. Not everyone knows what it feels like to hold the weight of your own dreams and still second-guess them. To grieve the comfort of a routine that never fulfilled you, but always kept you safe.
People assume change comes in a moment. But the truth is, sometimes the moment comes long after the change began.
The day you walk away might look brave on the outside, but that decision was probably made in a thousand tiny ways⎯in the resistance you felt going into work, in the way your spirit kept whispering “not this”, in the ache that grew every time you chose what was expected instead of what was aligned.
And that’s the part most people don’t prepare you for, the in-between. The space between clarity and stability. The void between choosing yourself and fully becoming who you chose.
It’s uncomfortable. It can feel lonely. But it’s also sacred. Because that’s where your roots begin to deepen. That’s where your knowing sharpens. That’s where trust is no longer an idea⎯it becomes your practice.
a quiet reassurance
If you’re in that space right now⎯in the stretch between comfort and calling⎯this is your reminder: You’re not lost. You’re unfolding.
You don’t need to have it all figured out to take the next step. You don’t need to be fearless to follow the path your spirit keeps pointing you toward. You just need to be willing. Willing to be seen in your becoming. Willing to show up, even when your voice shakes. Willing to trust that what’s on the other side of uncertainty has already been shaped for you.
Because the truth is⎯every time you choose alignment over approval, you come home to yourself. Every time you say “yes” to what your soul already knows, the path makes just a little more sense.
And no, it might not feel easy. But ease and alignment are not the same things. One comforts you. The other changes you.
So if you’re walking away from what no longer fits, or standing in the fog of something new⎯know this:
You are not behind. You are not failing. You are becoming.
